SCW Republican Club

Grand Canyon

Welcome

We welcome you to the Sun City West Republican Club website. If you are a member, this is the place to get up-to-date information on upcoming meetings and events. If you are a visitor have a look around and find out what we do, and how we do it. From September to June we meet on the first Saturday of the month and enjoy some coffee, donuts, a speaker and some camaraderie with fellow Republicans.

If your heart is warmed by the quote to the right on this page, you belong with us at our meeting. Join up, participate, and join in making America great again.

Our meetings  are the first Saturday of the month. Coffee, donuts and social time begins at 8:00 a.m. with the call to order at 8:30.  We meet in the Beardsley Recreation Center starting in September 2018 and ask a $2 donation to defray the cost of the room rental. Meetings are carefully planned to finish by 10:00 a.m.

Summer Break

In The SCW Republican Club is taking a summer break, looking forward to our first meeting in the Fall on Saturday, September 1st.

New Meeting Location

Our fall meetings will be held in the Sagebrush Room at the Beardsley Recreation Center, 12755 Beardsley Road (at Stardust). Most people don’t like change, but this change of location was necessary in order to preserve the financial integrity of the club without raising dues or the standard donation for meeting attendees.  The donations from attendees were not covering the room rental cost for the room we used at the Foundation building.

October Meeting

Our second meeting of the fall season will be held October 6, 2018 at 8:00 am in the Sagebrush Room of the Beardsley Recreation Center. We will host several speakers who will educate us about two important offices that don’t get much attention but are important to anyone in SCW who pays property taxes or drinks water from the tap. Jean McGrath and Kathleen Winn are running for Maricopa County Community College Board which governs the community college and controls the funds which are raised by one line item on our property tax bills.  Three candidates are running as a slate for the Central Arizona Project (CAP) Water Board.  We have invited all three candidates and Kerry Giangobbe has confirmed her attendance.  Click on the highlighted links below for more information.  Jean McGrath,  Kathleen Winn, CAP Team.
